The case against a 32-year-old suspect arrested in connection with a mass shooting in Saulsville earlier this month has been postponed following a brief appearance in the Atteridgeville Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

The accused faces 12 counts of murder and 13 counts of attempted murder.

The charges stem from a shooting in the early hours of December 6. It is alleged that the suspect and two accomplices entered a tavern in Saulsville and opened fire, killing 12 people. Among the victims was a three-year-old child, the youngest person killed in the attack.

The matter has been postponed to December 31 to allow for further bail investigations. The suspect remains in custody as the search for the remaining accomplices continues.
