Western Cape welcomes 171 babies at its public hospitals on Christmas Day

The Western Cape welcomed a total of 171 babies at its public hospitals on Christmas Day.

The newborns include 80 boys and 91 girls, with double the joy at Tygerberg Hospital where two sets of twins were born.

The Department of Health congratulated families and thanked healthcare workers for delivering new life on the festive day.

MEC Mireilli Wenger, "This miracle would not be possible without the dedication of healthcare workers who, even on Christmas Day, serve tirelessly, often away from their own loved ones, to care for others."
