Police in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested four suspects wanted for serious crimes, including attempted murder and rape, in Umlazi, south of Durban, on Tuesday.
The arrests were made by members of the provincial tracing team, in two separate operations, on Tuesday morning.
Authorities said that earlier this month, one of the suspects allegedly stabbed a man in the neck during a home robbery and raped a woman in the same house before stealing her phone, and fleeing the scene.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Paul Magawaza confirmed the suspect was apprehended.
“The suspect thought he had evaded arrest for the crimes he committed at St Faiths; a knock on the door from the provincial tracing team in the early hours of the morning reminded him how long the arm of the law can be," said Magawaza.
"The 37-year-old is charged with murder, rape as well as house robbery."
Magawaza added that the tracing team also arrested three other suspects linked to a recent attempted murder case.
“During the operation by the provincial tracing team, three more suspects were arrested for a case of attempted murder. It is alleged that on Saturday, 1 November 2025, three suspects approached the victim at Umlazi and enquired about his friend who owed them money and a firearm. He denied knowing his whereabouts, after which they instructed him to sit down and shot him multiple times between his legs,” he said.
The suspects will appear in court on Friday.
