Police investigations have revealed some details of the murders of businessman Alan Moonsamy and his family last Tuesday.

The kidnappers stormed into their home, terrorised them, raped Moonsamy’s daughter before driving with the family of seven to Melmoth for nearly two hours.

Three of the victims were shot and killed, while four were stabbed to death.

During a mass funeral on Sunday, KZN Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli made these remarks: “I want to assure the family and the community that all available resources are being deplored to locate and apprehend the remaining individual. We will not rest until all those responsible are brought before the law.”

Ntuli said the Department of Community Safety has approached its legal team to ensure that bail is opposed for the suspects.
