African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Fikile Mbalula says about 20,000 people attended the party's rally at Moruleng Stadium in the North West.

The party marked 114 years since its founding, with party president Cyril Ramaphosa delivering the annual January 8 statement.

Some social media users criticised the ANC, claiming it failed to fill Moruleng Stadium, which has a capacity of 30,000 seats.
