A 42-year-old man arrested for allegedly murdering his wife and stuffing her body into the boot of her vehicle is set to appear in court on Monday morning.
He was arrested on Saturday by police after his wife’s remains were found in the car which was parked at a shopping complex on the East Rand.
She was found with multiple stab wounds to her body.
Police have described it as a heinous case of gender-based violence.
Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo, "the deceased was reported missing by her friend on Friday, 09 January 2026, at Alberton police station. The search was conducted on the same day and the victim was found inside the boot of her white BMW at Brackenhurst. She was found with stabbed wounds and declared dead on the scene.”
Members of SAPS Serious and Violent Crimes Investigation arrested the husband on Saturday,
