Former Eskom CEO Brian Molefe has been promoted to Treasurer General of the MK Party after party leader Jacob Zuma again made changes to the organisation's top leadership.
Molefe was installed as party Treasurer General, replacing Mpiyakhe Limba, who leaves with immediate effect.
The MK Party has also decided to remove Colleen Makhubele as Chief Whip, as Zuma again reshuffles the party's parliamentary caucus.
Molefe was sworn in as an MK Party MP in August 2024 and represented the party in the electricity and energy portfolio committee.

His quick rise to the party's top leadership follows several changes to the party's officials since it entered parliament as the official opposition.
The party says Molefe, as Treasurer General, will bring a wealth of experience in public administration and finance and has a proven track record.
Meanwhile, Makhubele was first removed as Chief Whip last year when the party also announced the suspension of parliamentary leader John Hlophe, but later reinstated her saying her removal was "null and void".
The party thanked Makhubele for her contribution and appointed NCOP member Mmabatho Mokoena-Zondi to act in the position.
