The Khayelitsha Magistrate's Court has sentenced two men found guilty of a mass shooting in Endlovini informal settlement in March 2022.

Madoda Zwayi was sentenced to a total of 75 years in prison and Thembani Kobe was sentenced to life for murder.

Five people were killed in the mass shooting.

Both men in their 30's were found guilty of the murders in October last year, following a lengthy investigation.

SAPS Spokesperson Wesley Twigg said, "The Western Cape police management welcomes the sentence bestowed on the accused and expresses gratitude to the investigating officer and the prosecution team for ensuring that justice has been served on those who are a threat to society."
