Flights in and out of Hoedspruit have resumed after days of disruption caused by flooding across parts of Limpopo.
Aviation activities in the area ground to a halt earlier this week due to the province being battered by heavy downpours that damaged roads, closed schools and disrupted services.
With an alert level 10 warning in place for parts of the province, authorities have warned the situation still remains fragile.
Airlink said flights to and from Hoedspruit resumed on Friday morning after being suspended midweek due to severe flooding that restricted access to the airport.
The airline has cautioned that operations remain subject to weather conditions and the situation on the ground, as rain continues to fall across the region.
Hoedspruit Airport serves several communities as well as the Kruger National Park and nearby lodges, many of which were left isolated when floodwaters cut off roads and access routes.
Airlink said it is in constant liaison with local stakeholders, including SANParks and private lodges, and will continue to update passengers should conditions change.
The resumption comes as the Limpopo provincial government provides an update on its response to the flooding and recovery efforts.
For now, airlines and communities remain on high alert, with the weather still unsettled and conditions unpredictable.
