Body of 20-year-old swept away by floods recovered in Mutale river

The body of a twenty-year-old man swept away by floodwaters in Limpopo has been recovered, days after he went missing while attempting to cross a river.
Police said the incident forms part of a growing number of flood-related tragedies, as search and rescue operations continue across the province.
Authorities are again urging residents to avoid low-lying areas, with rivers and streams still swollen following days of heavy rain.
Limpopo police have confirmed the body of Lindelani Munyai was found in the Mutale River several days after he was swept away while walking with his father.
Preliminary information suggests the pair was attempting to cross the river between Mangaya and Tshanzhe villages when strong currents overpowered the young man.
His father managed to cross safely..
"The floodwaters during rainy conditions are unpredictable and extremely hazardous. The search and rescue teams will continue with their coordinated rescue efforts," said Limpopo police spokesperson, Hlulani Mashaba.
