Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube has committed to assisting the families of 12 learners who died in a tragic accident in Vanderbijlpark with burials.
Gwarube said there's been an outpouring of pledges from the public to assist the families.

One of the families visited by the minister, the Gauteng premier and MECs said they have already started with funeral arrangements and will be laying their child to rest this Saturday.
"We will also be making sure that all the families that have deceased loved ones will be receiving the necessary support for the burial and these will be directed and coordinated from the district office. We’ve already received a number of commitments from the private sector and others who say we will be able to assist."
