Ozempic effect: New research shows weight-loss drugs could help airlines cut fuel costs

Airlines could save money on fuel costs as GLP-1 weight-loss medications such as Ozempic gain popularity in the US.  

A recent analysis by Jefferies Research Service revealed that these medications have become more accessible and are expected to slim down society.

Fuel costs are directly linked to the weight of planes, including passengers, luggage, and other essential cargo.

The research argues that while airlines have a history of being more vigilant around aircraft weight, this could bring an estimated 10% reduction in average passenger weight.
