Humanitarian aid is pouring in as multiple donors assist communities and staff affected by recent flooding in Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
The Kruger National Park received 500 millimetres of rain, forcing the evacuation of staff and visitors by helicopter.
Donors, including Gift of the Givers, Christian Aid Relief, and several major grocers and automotive companies, have contributed support.
The park's Hein Grobler said many of those who've lost food and personal belongings do not have insurance to recover their losses.
"Camps and ranger stations were cut off because of these floods, and everybody put their hands together, and the teams were mobilised and very, very quickly, things started happening."
The Christian Aid Relief provided 19 tons of food in relief.
The organisation's Frank Weitsz said that the food is enough to provide 400,000 meals.
"And we are the hands and the feet, and we are the servants, and that's what we're doing, and that's why we're responding in the way we have with approximately 400,000 meals."
