Outgoing National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) head Shamila Batohi will not resume her testimony at the Nkabinde inquiry into Johannesburg prosecutions boss Advocate Andrew Chauke.
In December, Batohi abandoned her testimony, requesting an opportunity to be given legal advice. Batohi is the main complainant.
She accused Chauke of making politically motivated prosecutorial decisions.
This is linked to the prosecution of former KZN Hawks head Johan Booysen and the Cato Manor unit.

When Batohi abandoned her testimony in December, she had been admonished and warned by the inquiry's panel for her conduct.
During a heated cross-examination by Chauke’s lawyer, advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi, Batoohi decided not to return before the inquiry without being given legal advice.
On Monday, evidence leaders told the inquiry that Batohi’s request for a senior council and a junior for legal advice was rejected by the Solicitor General and by the Justice Minister, Mamoloko Kubayi.
The minister suggested that she be advised by the NPA’s lawyers, who are part of the inquiry.
