Embattled KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Hawks boss, Lesetja Senona, will resume his testimony on Wednesday before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria.
On Tuesday a questionable relationship was drawn between Senona, and tender tycoon, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
This after Senona confirmed that he shares a close bond with Matlala, whose been implicated in the multi-billion-rand Tembisa Hospital scandal.
In June 2024 Matlala scored a 360-million-rand SAPS health services contract.
But the contract was flagged and subject of an internal probe before being cancelled in May last year.
Shortly after Matlala was arrested by members of the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT).
Senona, told the Madlanga commission that he forwarded the PKTT disbandment letter to Matlala early last year, something Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga questioned.
"I find it very strange that you would have shared with Mr Matlala a letter disbanding the PKTT if you did not know him to have any interest in the subject of the PKTT."
But Senona claimed that he was unaware Matlala was being investigated.
"Iwas not aware he was the subject of investigation by the PKTT or any other unit.
Senona confirmed that he has known Matlala for at least seven years and the pair share a brotherly bond.
