Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz became the youngest male player, and the ninth man in tennis history, to complete a career Grand Slam.
The 22-year-old beat 10-time champion Novak Djokovic in four sets (2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5) in the 2026 Australian Open men’s singles final on Sunday.

Tennis analyst Bruce Davidson said the career slam, winning each of the four Grand Slam titles at least once, is an impressive achievement given Alcaraz’s decision to part ways with his longtime coach, Juan Ferrero, at the end of last year.
He noted that Alcaraz has become more focused, intentional, and able to manage pressure more effectively.
“There seems to be an understanding with his camp about what needs to be done, must be done, and apparently, he has been given a bit of freedom.
“I have always thought that Alcaraz is going to be the player who is going to take over. He has got a bit of Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic in him, that’s what makes him so special,” Davidson said.
