EFF applauds expulsion of Israeli diplomat

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has applauded the expulsion of Israel’s charge d’affaires to South Africa, Ariel Seidman.

On Friday, the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) declared Seidman persona non grata.

DRICO has given the Israeli charge d’affaires until Tuesday to leave South Africa.

This decision follows what Pretoria deemed diplomatic violations, including alleged attacks on President Cyril Ramaphosa on social media.

Speaking at an EFF gathering in Boksburg, party leader Julius Malema lauded the government for taking action.

"South Africa sending Israel’s diplomatic packing is a proper decision. It’s a proper stance, and those are the kind of decisions we support. But we want the whole embassy of Israel closed down."
