The iconic Good Hope Centre is among 50 city-owned properties across Cape Town set to go under the hammer.
The city will release around 282,000 square metres of land next week Thursday for housing, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Economic Growth MMC James Vos said all properties on auction have been deemed surplus to municipal needs.
He added that this is part of Cape Town’s plan to unlock economic, social, and spatial value across the metro.
"It will be done through a public auction that's open to everyone and easy to participate in. The funds raised will go straight back into municipal service delivery."
