Madlanga Commission: Sibiya claims he is being framed

Suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya claims he’s framed regarding allegations that seek to link him to alleged criminal kingpins.

Testifying at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria on Thursday morning, Sibiya made specific reference to the testimony of embattled Crime Intelligence boss Dumisani Khumalo.

Khumalo previously presented evidence of CCTV footage showing a police sergeant, Fannie Nkosi, driving a State vehicle, a white BMW, and collecting a gift bag from the home of Katiso “KT” Molefe in Sandhurst in 2024.

Khumalo alleged that the vehicle was registered to Sibiya’s office and that Nkosi worked under him.

But Sibiya disputed this.

“The white BMW in question was only assigned to my office on 4 August 2025. I attach hereto a diary entry made on the very date the vehicle was received, marked SS32. The entry record, not only the receipt of the vehicle, but also its condition at the time.”
