One person is currently in hospital after sustaining second-degree burns from a factory fire still raging in Ekurhuleni.
Firefighters are still on scene working to extinguish flames at the Rolfes Chemical Factory.
Earlier, hundreds of workers and neighbouring companies were evacuated from the area as the blaze involved flammable chemicals.
Manufacturing at nearby factories was also halted over safety concerns, while several surrounding streets have been closed to traffic.
"Preliminary information states that undisclosed highly volatile chemical ignited due to sparking as it was offloaded into tanks from a truck," said Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services spokesperson William Ntladi.
