Certain parts of Joburg will be without electricity in the coming weeks due to City Power having to carry out maintenance.
Noel Maso, Group Head of Operations at City Power says they have to carry out 12 planned outages.
"And this will go throughout the various regions in the City of Johannesburg...And needless to say that these outages are very necessary in ensuring that we can at least ensure reliable supply to our citizens through our aged network.
"As everybody's aware, recapitalisation is a bit of an expensive route . So what we then do as a strategy is to ensure that at least we prolong the lifespan of the aged equipment through planned maintenance activities."
There is a week-to-week list on City Power's website. It shows that repairs are happening in Alexandra tomorrow. Power will be out in several areas from 9am to 5pm.
