Police in KwaZulu-Natal have uncovered a dagga cultivation laboratory which allegedly sells drugs to school pupils in the Lamontville area, south of Durban.

Officers raided the premises opposite a high school this morning following what they say was suspicious activity.

“Upon further investigations, police discovered that the occupants of the house were allegedly selling dagga to the learners. Further investigations into the house led to the discovery of a fully operational dagga cultivation laboratory,” said KZN police spokesperson Paul Magwaza.

Magwaza added that two suspects were nabbed during the operation.

The arrested suspects were charged with dagga cultivation as well as dealing in dagga.

They will appear in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Thursday, 26 February 2026.
