Police at OR Tambo International Airport have intercepted two separate drug shipments this week, with an estimated street value of R2.8 million.

The first discovery occurred on the 4th of March at a cargo warehouse. Officers uncovered a consignment of crystal meth valued at R2.2 million, which was destined for the Philippines.

Following the initial discovery, a second bust was made on the 5th of March. Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe confirmed that authorities found dagga worth R672,000 concealed in boxes shipped from Morocco to South Africa.

"The drugs have been seized, and investigations are still underway to track down the traffickers of these drugs," Mathe stated.
