Water supply to parts of Johannesburg remains a challenge after the old Brixton reservoir dropped to critically low levels over the weekend.
Johannesburg Water recently made operational adjustments to stabilise supply between the old and new Brixton reservoirs.
The new reservoir was brought online to support the old reservoir, which has been struggling to meet high demand.

The Brixton reservoir provides water to western and central Johannesburg communities, including Auckland Park, Mayfair, Coronationville and surrounding areas.
After water levels at the old Brixton reservoir dropped to critically low levels, Johannesburg Water temporarily halted the outflow of water to households to allow the reservoir time to recover and refill.
The outlet will be reopened once sufficient levels are restored, after which pumping to the reservoir will also resume.
To support the recovery of the Brixton reservoir, Johannesburg Water has reduced supply to areas served by the Hursthill system.
This means communities supplied through this system, including Northcliff, Claremont and surrounding areas, may experience disruptions.
Johannesburg Water said its teams are closely monitoring reservoir levels and hopes the system will recover soon.
