Man accused of murdering missing girlfriend in Eastern Cape due in court

A murder suspect in the Eastern Cape, also linked to the disappearance of his girlfriend, is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

It is understood the victim went missing over the weekend.

After a 24-hour search, her body was discovered stuffed in a suitcase and dumped at a maize field.

Police said crucial evidence gathered in the matter led them to the arrest.

Spokesperson Nobuntu Gantana said investigations continue.

“Police investigations remain ongoing as authorities work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident, including the motive for the crime.”
