Three former Services SETA staff set for payout or reinstatement

Three former employees that were dismissed by the services SETA after blowing the whistle on corruption will either receive compensation or get their jobs back.

Services SETA administrator Lehlohonolo Masoga found that the dismissals were automatically unfair as they fell under the protection of public disclosures act.

On three separate incidents, the three employees, Thandi Mkhize, Lehoma Ramajwe and Tshepiso Mofokeng exposed acts of corruption and irregular tenders amounting to millions of rand.

Masoga said that the three were targeted and fired by the SETA.

“It is for this reason that on behalf of the services SETA I take full responsibility for the actions and inactions of my predecessors and commit to dispense justice to the victims of our previous decisions and/or sometimes lack thereof. We remain committed to justice through timeous and decisive action in pursuit of good governance," said Masoga.

He confirmed that investigations by the Hawks and Public Protector into these allegations are still ongoing.
