The Democratic Alliance (DA) announced six additional mayoral candidates in its second round of announcements for the Western Cape.

Candidates for the Cederberg, Mossel Bay, and Saldanha Bay municipalities were named.

Nominees for Swellendam, the West Coast District, and the Breede Valley were also confirmed.

The party also outlined its strategy to drive voter registration as part of its goal for what it calls wall-to-wall DA governance.

In the Cederberg, Ives Blaauw was named as the party’s mayoral candidate.

In Mossel Bay, Dirk Kotzé was selected, while Marius Koen will contest the position in Saldanha Bay.

In Swellendam, medical doctor Jacques du Toit was selected as the mayoral candidate.

For the West Coast District, Roelof “Boffie” Strydom was announced.

Monday's announcement brings the total number of confirmed candidates to 12, with more expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
