Evidence leaders at the Madlanga Commission have poked holes in Sergeant Fannie Nkosi’s explanation of why police found R385,000 in cash at his home.
On 8 October last year, police raided Nkosi’s home and found the cash in his safe.
Nkosi has told the commission he was keeping the money safe for his brother, who had just sold a truck.
The sale agreement between Nkosi’s brother was signed on 7 October, a day before the raid at his home.
At the same time, the seller only signed the agreement on 19 December, which was three days after Nkosi submitted his statement to the Madlanga Commission on the matter.

There are also discrepancies in the purchase price, as the agreement lists R400,000 while the affidavit provided by Nkosi’s brother says the truck was sold for R380,000.
Evidence leader, Matthew Chaskalson: "What this looks like to me from the outside is an attempt to explain the presence of R380k in your safe. There are so many anomalies...what I want to put to you is that these documents were put to you after the event to try and explain how the money came into your safe.”
Nkosi: "No, I deny [that]."
It's also emerged that the truck in question was bought by Hartley Ngoato who is Nkosi's legal representative at the commission.
