KSD municipality awaits report into Mthatha building fire

The King Sabata Dalindyebo district municipality in the Eastern Cape says it is awaiting a report into the cause of the Botha Sigcau building fire in the Mthatha CBD.
A fire started in the building situated right opposite the municipal offices on Tuesday night.
Firefighters are still working on fully extinguishing the blaze.

"We don’t want to speculate as to what state the fire but reports that we will be getting during the day will bring like as to what actually happened,” said municipal spokesperson Olwethu Mabovula.
She said they are still waiting on provincial government officials to advise a way forward.
"We are hopeful that public works will be able to give us a full report, as this building belongs to them and also what happens to the employees that were working in this particular building," said Mabovula.
