Cape Town Stadium is sold out on Tuesday night, with thousands of fans turning up for Bafana Bafana’s friendly against Panama.
The international friendly is expected to be the final match on home soil for the men’s national team before they participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup this June. For local fans, the occasion brings a sense of relief, marking the first time Bafana Bafana has played in the Mother City in almost two years.

Such was the hype and excitement for the clash that tickets were sold out by Sunday. Hundreds of supporters clamoured for one last chance to watch the national side before they head to Mexico for their tournament opener against the co-hosts on June 11.
In the stands, the atmosphere is electric. Several fans are carrying signs encouraging Lyle Foster and praising Relebohile Mofokeng, as those gathered show their support for the team’s biggest stars.
Beyond a return to winning ways, coach Hugo Broos has tasked his charges to put on a show for the fans. The team is also looking to maintain a formidable five-year unbeaten home record under the Belgian mentor’s leadership.
