Despite Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema facing a possible jail term after being found guilty of violating the country’s gun laws, he remains adamant that he is being politically targeted.

Malema returned to the dock in the Kugompo City Magistrates' Court for pre-sentencing on Wednesday.

Following the final heads of argument, the matter was rolled over to Thursday.

Malema addressed party supporters gathered to show solidarity with him.

"They use us to say whoever dares to speak truth to power must be taken to jail."

He added that no court will never silence him.

"We can never be silenced, they can do whatever they want to do they will never silence us - they can imprison me, but they can never imprison my ideas. They can never imprison the ideas of economic freedom in our lifetime.”

EFF party supporters are preparing to gather again tonight to hold another vigil ahead of Malema's sentencing.
