South African households employing domestic workers are urged to submit their earnings returns to the Department of Employment and Labour before the June deadline.

The submission window for the annual Returns of Earnings (RoEs) for the 2025 period runs from 1 April to 30 June 2026.

Employers registered under the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA), including households that employ domestic workers, are required by law to submit RoEs.

Employers must register domestic workers with the COIDA and contribute to it.

The compensation fund covers workers, full-time or part-time, in private homes for injuries or disease on duty.

The Department encourages employers to use its online portal to submit on time, or face penalties.
