Police have found the bodies of 50 small children and six adults in a cemetery in Cumato on the island of Trinidad.
Foreign correspondent Adam Gilchrist spoke to CapeTalk's Lester Kiewit about the discovery.
Preliminary investigations show it could be a case of the "unlawful disposal of unclaimed corpses".
Trinidad's police commissioner said it is deeply troubling.
"Despite the fact that only five of the six adults and none of the children have identification tags, it's not thought that they were murdered at this stage. It's not thought that there were suspicious circumstances around their deaths," said Gilchrist.
