Civic group March and March has taken its anti-illegal immigration picket to the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Tuesday.

The organisation has blamed government for allegedly not doing enough to deal with undocumented foreign nationals in the country.

Some of the organisation's previous protests have reportedly been marred by incidents of violence in the Eastern Cape and Durban.

A small but vocal group of protesters has already assembled at Burgers Park before marching through Sunnyside and heading towards the Union Buildings.

Organisers have emphasised that the demonstration must remain peaceful, urging participants to avoid damage to property and infrastructure.

March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma said, “This is not normal migration. I say this all the time. What we’re currently facing in South Africa is not normal migration.”

A heavy police presence, including the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Tshwane Metro Police, is monitoring the situation to ensure order and minimal disruption.
