South Africans can expect mixed weather conditions across major metros over the Workers’ Day long weekend, with rain in parts of Gauteng and cooler, cloudy conditions in Cape Town, according to AccuWeather.
Friday (Workers’ Day) will bring morning showers to Johannesburg, followed by variable cloudiness, with temperatures reaching 19°C and dipping to 8°C. Winds will be light from the northwest at 11 km/h.
Conditions improve on Saturday, with hazy sunshine and warmer weather. Temperatures climb to 23°C, with a low of 8°C.
Sunday continues the warming trend, reaching 25°C with hazy sunshine and light northerly winds.
Pretoria will see similar but slightly warmer conditions. Friday starts cloudy with intervals of sunshine later and a chance of passing showers.
The high will reach 20°C, with a low of 10°C.
Saturday turns warmer with hazy sun and a high of 25°C.
By Sunday, temperatures peak at 27°C under hazy skies, with light winds.
Cape Town remains cooler and more unsettled. Friday will be cloudy with a high of 18°C and strong north-northwesterly winds at 26 km/h.
Rain is expected on Saturday morning, with drizzle and cloudy conditions. Temperatures will remain around 18°C.
Sunday brings slight improvement, with variable cloudiness and a high of 20°C.
