CAPE TOWN - Eskom has urged Table View residents to be patient as it works to restore electricity.
Households and businesses have been without power since Friday when the area was plunged into darkness.
The utility said that cables have been damaged by a third party during construction-related activities.
Eskom added there is no estimated timeline on when the electricity will be restored in Table View and other affected areas such as Montague Gardens.
The power utility says since Friday technicians have been on site working on trying to bring the lights back on.
Eskom said that its staff members are working under risky conditions as the soil in the area is unstable due to landslides.
It added that returning power supply in affected areas is top priority but careful excavation is crucial so that people working there are safe.
