The world of mixed martial arts is growing in Africa and South Africa.
The inaugural 2025 PFL Africa Tournament series takes place at the Grand West Casino in Cape Town on 19 July.
This landmark event marks the first time a global MMA organisation brings its high-octane action to Africa, crowning the first PFL Africa champion.
A second event will follow at the Big Top Arena in Carnival City, in Johannesburg on 9 August.
“We are super excited to bring this incredible sport that is growing so fast to the continent and provide an ecosystem for the sport here… fighters don’t have to go to Europe, they don’t have to go the US, they can do it from their home country.”
– Justin Tinsey, PFL Africa Director
“It’s about opportunity for the great athletes and fighters. On this roster this year, we have 14 nations represented from the continent, incredible athletes across four weight classes… this is history.”
– Peter Murray, PFA Africa CEO
