Politicians across the political spectrum have spoken out about the brazen killing of controversial right wing influencer Charlie Kirk.

Kirk, aged 31, amassed a massive following online and became a ‘MAGA’ spokesperson for young conservatives.

He strongly advocated for conservative values, anti-immigration policies, and protecting the right to bear arms.

McNamee says Kirk was extremely skilled as a community organiser, which contributed to him becoming such a close ally of US President Donald Trump.

He adds there is no one on the democratic side of the political spectrum that holds the same level of influence.

“Charlie Kirk was one of the most effective political communicators in the United States.”

“The United States is not teetering on the edge of civil war as South Africa was in 1993, but it is hugely polarised and massively broken in terms of its political life. I would put this assassination in the kind of category as the assassination of Chris Hani. In fact, I would go insofar as to claim that in terms of the legacy of this assassination, it could be more consequential.”

“I would not underestimate how massive this is.”
