In a statement, Senona’s lawyers said he was escorted out of his Durban office together with his secretary by a police captain acting on instructions from Mkhwanazi.

Senona faced tough questions at the Madlanga Commission about his relationship with his alleged crime boss, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.

Senona was named in a Presidency statement as one of the five senior ranking police officers named in the Madlanga Commission’s interim report to face investigation.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has ordered the establishment of a special task team under the under National Commissioner Fanie Masemola to investigate those fingered in the report.

His lawyers said he is yet to be suspended and has not received any written notice or reasons for the action taken against him.
