KZN police officer accused of colleague's murder remains in custody

The KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) police officer accused of killing another officer in the Marrianhill area of Durban a week ago, will remain behind bars while investigations into the case continue.
Andile Philani Zulu appeared in the Pinetown Magistrates Court for the murder of Crime Intelligence officer Sbonelo Ngidi.
Ngidi was shot and killed in what is believed to be a road rage incident, just a few kilometres away from his home.

Magistrate Wendolyn Robertson urged members of the media not to reveal the accused's face while an identity parade is still pending.
“At this stage, I know that the media is interested, and I had initially before the recording commenced, I had allowed the media to record the matter but because for the ID parade, if the accused’s face could please be blocked from all broadcasting for purposes of the ID parade. We don’t want the investigations to be compromised in any manner.”
Robertson also ordered that no photographs should be taken in court.
He postponed the matter to next week.
“And please no photographs to be published at this stage, thank you so 27 October,” said Robertson.
