Limpopo police are continuing their search for leads following the murder of a well-known security company owner based in Polokwane.

The 43-year-old victim was gunned down earlier this week.

Officers were called to the scene on Tuesday, where they discovered a double-cab vehicle with Gauteng registration plates parked in the middle of the road. The slain businessman was found lying on the ground next to the vehicle.

Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that the motive for the killing is currently unknown. As of now, no suspects have been identified.

“Lieutenant General Hadebe has strongly condemned the incident and directed that all necessary resources be mobilised to ensure the perpetrators are traced and brought to justice,” Ledwaba stated.

Due to the profile of the victim and the nature of the crime, the matter has been transferred to the Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit for further investigation.

Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward, noting that "all information received will be treated with the strictest confidentiality."
