A recently retired mother from Cape Town has won over R30 million in the Lotto Plus 1 jackpot on Saturday, 26 July.

Ithuba National Lottery reports the woman walked away with R30,211,138.30.

Her winning ticket, purchased at a retail store in Cape Town for R80, was the result of a manual number selection in draw number 2562.

Calling the massive windfall a 'retirement blessing', the mom-millionaire shared that she retired just last year and has been financially supporting her two daughters ever since. Her biggest concern, however, has been her youngest daughter's daily commute to work.

With her newfound fortune, she plans to buy her daughter a car to ensure safer travel. She also intends to invest the rest of the money wisely.

Charmaine Mabuza, CEO of Ithuba, said in a statement, “We are delighted that the winner came forward promptly to claim her prize. It’s truly heart-warming to know that she’ll now be able to provide her daughter with a safer means of transport. This win will certainly ease some of the anxieties she’s been carrying."
