The African National Congress (ANC) in Johannesburg has concluded its elective conference, ushering in a new leadership collective tasked with the immediate priority of rebuilding the organisation and reclaiming lost political ground in the city.
In a historic moment, Loyiso Masuku was elected as the ANC's first female chairperson in Johannesburg. She defeated the incumbent, Dada Morero, to secure the position of regional leader.
Following his re-election as the Johannesburg ANC Secretary, Sasabona Manganye, addressed journalists, emphasising the urgent mandate of the new leadership.
The priority now is to rebuild the organisation," Manganye stated, adding that the collective must immediately work to reclaim lost ground in the city.
