South African football earned its stripes again, as Adidas and the South African Football Association (SAFA) unveiled the new 2026/2027 kit for the men’s and women’s international teams.
Adidas took over technical sponsorship from Le Coq Sportif with a five-year partnership for both Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana.
Tom Brown, Senior Marketing Director for Adidas South Africa, said the iconic yellow jersey with green stripes is inspired by the 2010 World Cup jersey.
The design pattern also pays tribute to South Africa’s 12 official languages.
“The jersey is more than match-day apparel, it is a unifying symbol worn by players and fans alike,” said SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao.
A tribute to heritage, a celebration of family, a design for the future
