President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) has received both compliments and criticism from opposition parties who continued analysing and debating the speech on Tuesday.
Some parties criticised Ramaphosa and his administration’s move to involve more private sector players in public infrastructure and other State programmes.
The President of the United Africans Transformation (UAT), Dr Bantu Mahlatsi, warned against the move to involve the private sector.

“Through programmes like Operation Vulindlela government is advancing reform that shifts the State away from direct control towards regulating private capital, but the question we must ask is very simple, who benefits.”
But Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema said Ramaphosa gets the thumbs up on international relations.
“Mr president, we want to say to you we fully support you on your posture when it comes to international relations. You support for Palestine and people of western Sahara, South Sudan and the people of Cuba.”
