CAPE TOWN - Another cold front is expected to hit the province on Friday, as the weather service has issued a Level 2 warning for damaging waves.
The cold front will bring about south-westerly waves and strong winds, which can impact coastal areas.
The most affected areas will stretch from Saldanha Bay to Plettenberg Bay.
Residents are at risk of being swept off coastal rocks by big waves, and dangerous sea conditions will also disrupt navigation of small boats, which can capsize.
Forecaster for the South African Weather Service, Henning Grobler, explained: "We have a yellow level 2 warning out for damaging waves resulting in difficulty navigating at sea, and small vessels are at risk of taking in water and capsizing in a locality.
"It’s expected between Saldanha Bay and Plettenberg Bay on Thursday afternoon, and that will spread to Alexander Bay from Friday afternoon into the evening.”
