KwaZulu-Natal police deny missing statement in Durban twin shaft tragedy docket

KwaZulu-Natal police have denied allegations that a statement is missing from the docket related to the case of 7-year-old twins who fell into a shaft in Durban.
A week ago, Aphelele Dlamini was killed in the tragic incident, while his sister Aphile Dlamini remains hospitalised, undergoing medical treatment.
On Monday, thousands of people marched through the Durban central business district (CBD), demanding justice for the pair and calling for the property owner to account.

Despite the rain pouring in Durban, which led to the protesters dispersing, they successfully handed over their memorandum of demands.
They delivered the list of demands to both the owners of the building where the tragic incident occurred and to police at their provincial headquarters on Monday.
In their list of demands, they are callingfor the prioritisation of the case and for overall justice to be served. The protesters are also demanding the release of footage that captured the deadly incident.
Earlier, the father of the twins, Khaya Dlamini, complained that there were issues with the case docket. Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda addressed marchers on this matter.
"There is information that there was a statement which was missing from the docket; that information is not correct, the docket is intact," Netshiunda stated.
Despite the police's assurance, the father has accused the police of being misleading.
