The security officers who allegedly assaulted a man in Panorama have been suspended by their employer, pending an investigation.
Video footage of the attack, which was shared widely on social media, shows several security officers kicking and hitting the man.
Western Cape police have confirmed that while the investigations are ongoing, the victim has not yet been interviewed.
In the recording of the incident, the security officers can be seen forcefully restraining the man and guiding him onto the pavement while holding his hands behind his back.
One by one, the officers can be seen assaulting the man intermittently in the 11-minute video.
Their employer, Zonewatch Security, has condemned the conduct of the officers.
It said it has enlisted the help of the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) as it conducts its own internal investigation.
The company added that the behaviour depicted in the video does not align with its company values.
