JOHANNESBURG - Build One South Africa (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane said his party would be sending a rescue plan to the education director-general.
Speaking outside the Kwadeda-Ngedlala Secondary School in Zola Soweto on Friday morning, Maimane said he was concerned about the 30% pass mark.
He said while the focus was on an increased pass rate, a 100% pass rate would make little to no difference when students could pass with 30% for fundamental subjects.
"The generation of 76 did not sacrifice their lives so that today our children can pass at 30%. If you want true freedom, we must begin with a leadership that is led and says how do we go forward."
