Cape Town is 2nd best city in the world to visit - Time Out
Only New York is a better city to visit than Cape Town, according to Time Out magazine.
Confirming what Capetonians already know, Time Out has named The Mother City one of the world's top ones to visit in its 2024 'Best Cities in the World' ranking.
Ranking second behind New York, Cape Town was regarded by 'every single survey respondent' as 'beautiful'.
Time Out’s annual list of the Best Cities in the World provides a 'global snapshot of city living', focussing on factors it believes make cities great places to live and visit.
This year, city-dwellers were surveyed about things such as food quality and affordability, and culture and nightlife.
They were also asked which other city they would most like to live in.
Time Out's Top 10 Best Cities in the World to Visit in 2024 are:

Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis welcomes the ranking saying, "Tourism to Cape Town is now at record levels, which will only be boosted even more by our world-beating ranking in the '50 Best Cities in the World to Visit 2024' global survey'."
Cape Town welcomed 317 000 overseas visitors in December and 2.9 million visitors in 2023. Both figures are all-time records.
